Center Based After School ABA Oriented Program
Our core beliefs center around:
- Trust/Respect for each other ( including students and all level of support staff)
- Commitment to safety
- Supporting individual differences and preferences
HHCS After School Program works with school districts to help students engage in and learn various recreational and leisure activities. The curriculum consists of cooking, music, sports and various social activities as well as bullying prevention and self-advocacy. The lessons are conducted to teach skills in a fun and structured environment. Other activities are: arts & crafts, table top games & sing-a-longs. Behavior management strategies (e.g., reinforcement systems) are incorporated into program as well. In the after-school program, the students work on their homework, if needed and programs are created for them based on their IEP goals. They also work on social skills, appropriate conversation skills, and various Daily Living Skills (i.e. cooking, cleaning, etc.). Within the program, the students also work on life skills and vocational training.
BCBA students work in this program to gain supervision hours. They are supervised by a BCBA.
